To use the on-line service, applicants must be filing a new or additional claim. An additional claim is one filed to reactivate benefits when a person already has a claim in existence, interrupts the payment of benefits on the claim by returning to work, and then becomes unemployed again.

Applicants filing new claims must meet these criteria:
• Are not employed full time.
• Have been employed during the past 18 months.
• Live in Michigan.
• Were employed by only one Michigan employer during the past 18 months.
• Filed a claim for unemployment benefits during the past 10 years.
• Did not work in family employment.
• Were not in Military Service during the past 18 months.
• Were not employed by the federal government during the past 18 months.
• Are not trying to claim past weeks of benefits.

Eligibility for Michigan Unemployment Benefits
The basic requirements for collecting unemployment benefits are:
• You must have been employed. The Michigan Consumer and Industry Services publish requirements for wages earned or time worked during an established period of time referred to as a “base period.”
• You have to determine that your unemployment was not due to fault of your own as defined under Michigan law.
• You must file ongoing claims and respond to questions concerning your continued eligibility. Any earning from work and job offers or refusals from work must be reported during the claim period.

To Make the Process Easier
In order to make the process of submitting your application run smoothly, try to ensure that you have details of your recent employer including their name, address and the dates of your employment. Copy any written evidence you have that shows that your unemployment was not through any fault of your own.

Thousand of Michigan residents may shed their joblessness returns beginning this week. An objection from the senator has blocked passage in the 30 day stopgap measure which would have kept the law alive extended adequate for Congress to settle over a more substantial extension of benefits and health-care returns for unemployed employees.

About 25,000 Michigan residents will operate out of joblessness gains if the law isn’t lengthy. Significantly a lot more than 400,000 would exhaust their gains by June. The lapse would jeopardize a monetary lifeline for unemployed guys and ladies who depend about the confident elements to shell out their fundamental bills.

But thousands of unemployed employees within the express are around the “cusp of loss”, not certain if they’re heading to have positive aspects or not. Or if this extension is their lasts.”It is so essential that we have this to pull us by in the course of this complicated time, when with joblessness, and individuals examine the Web a lot more than and extra than for just about any information with regards to the extension. The federal federal government is designed to vote to approve the extensions and they are suppose to notify us by way of Michigan joblessness as quickly because they choose on it

In Washington, the Senate’s second-ranking Republican leader claims he expects GOP lawmakers will vote to extend joblessness gains this week – derailing a fellow Republican’s objections. Sen. Jon Kyl of Arizona claims the extension will pass, but only because of towards the simple fact it really is short-term. The benefits are portion from the bigger bundle of federal programs that are expiring Sunday merely due to the fact senators couldn’t agree on easy methods to shell out to maintain them heading.Democrats couldn’t overcome the objections of Republican Sen. Jim Bunning of Kentucky that the $10 billion measure would add towards the spending budget deficit. Kyl tells “Fox Information Sunday” that a longer-term extension will price significantly a great deal much more, and Congress ought to locate a method to spend out for it preceding to Republicans will go along

Knowing that many people are still unfamiliar with the technology, the Michigan Talent Bank keeps it easy to understand and use. With the Michigan Unemployment Insurance Agency requiring you to keep up with your unemployment account through their voice recognition help program “MARVIN”, it is a good place to start learning the basics of doing such business online.

You can also find many helpful resources to help you choose a career or change from an old one. At https://www.michworks.org you will discover articles that range from information for the student just beginning a working career to the savvy businessman who can keep up with what he is paying in to the program to aid unemployed workers. He can also find out about new laws and policies that could affect his business.

The Internet is not as frightening as some would like you to believe. The Michigan Government has helped the newcomer by making this vital information available in such a way that you can understand how to use it to your benefit. You will never know until you try and you may find it quite appealing to spend the hours needed to learn everything at home rather than have to sit around in their physical office for days on end trying to get the same things done in person.
